About Varna

Varna is located in north-eastern Bulgaria, on the Black Sea coast. Varna is the third largest city in Bulgaria and the largest on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast with a population of about 330,000 people. History of Varna goes back centuries. In the 7th century BC, Odessos fortress, built by Greek colonists from the city of Miletus, already stood on this site. In the year 15 AD, it became part of the Roman Empire. The city was named after the Bulgarian name “Varna” in the 9th century, although it finally became part of the Bulgarian kingdom only in the 13th century. In the era of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom, Varna turned into a busy shopping centre, which traded with Genoa, Venice, Dubrovnik. The tourist boom of the twentieth century turned Varna into one of the favourite vacation spots of Bulgarian and foreign tourists.

About Chernomorets

Chernomorets is located 24 km southeast of Bourgas, on the southern shore of Bourgas Bay, located on a small bay by the sea. The small bay, which since ancient times the Greeks called “Agios Nicholas” (St. Nicholas), has the shape of a horseshoe, facing north. He gave the name of the village, Chernomorets until 1951 was called St. Nicholas. For ideological reasons, the name was changed, but after the political changes in the late 80s of the twentieth century it was not restored. To the east are the islands of St. Ivan and Sozopol. The city is located on beautiful shores, and nearby is the bay of Vromos.
